Four steps. Every time.
The same process on every project, regardless of size.
Discovery
We start by learning as much as possible about the business, the audience, and the problem the copy needs to solve. Sometimes this is a brief. Sometimes it is a conversation. Either way, we do not start writing before we understand what we are writing for.
Research
Before the first word is written, we research the market, the competition, and the language the audience actually uses. Copy that sounds like a press release usually does because no one took the time to read the room before writing.
First Draft
The first draft arrives with an explanation of every significant choice we made. Why this headline and not another. Why this structure. Why this tone. You should understand the reasoning so that your feedback is specific and the revisions are fast.
Refine & Deliver
We work through your feedback and deliver final copy in the format that is most useful for you. DOCX, Google Doc, HTML, or plain text. A brief handover note covers the tone decisions and any guidance for how to build on the copy later.
